During September and October several 10 000 calls had been registered on the 1788 Matáv Donation Line for UNICEF's Anti-tetanic Campaign. This means that Hungarian donators supported UNICEF's Vaccine Programme with 6 217 000 HUF, and helped 240 million young women to receive anti-tetanic vaccine all around the world.
Not more than 100 HUF is the price for one single life-saving, anti-tetanic vaccine. The 3-part-vaccine series, beside saving the mother's life, also saves her newborn babies from the fatal inspection caused by bad hygienic circumstances in the poorer countries of the world. As the first step of the grant-collecting series from the middle of the year UNICEF has been receiving donations from the money-collecting boxes placed at 40 branches of Raiffeisen Bank. And those who would like to give help to wind up tetanus worldwide can still make a pledge by the end of 2003, by sending their contribution to UNICEF's bank account (OTP 11705008-20123725)
